The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) has dealt a significant blow to the regional drug trade, seizing over P39.4 million worth of illegal substances and arresting 86 suspects during a focused 15-day campaign from February 1 to 15, 2026.
Regional forces conducted 65 separate anti-drug operations in the first 15 days of the month, which resulted in the confiscation of approximately 5,796 grams of “shabu” (methamphetamine) and a small quantity of “kush” (high-grade marijuana).
Of those apprehended, 34 are classified as high-value targets (HVTs), while 52 are identified as street-level pushers.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported the largest seizure, with 3,415 grams of shabu from 30 suspects, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), which seized 974 grams from 35 suspects.
Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6) came in third, accounting for 805 grams of shabu and 10 arrests.
The suspects are currently in custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, PRO-6 director, attributed the “success” to intelligence-driven tactics and the “strong partnership” between law enforcement and the community.
“With the public’s support, we are better equipped to safeguard our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs,” he stated, urging residents to remain vigilant.IMT
