The Iloilo City Government is targeting to construct 26 waiting sheds along the Senator Benigno Aquino Avenue (Diversion Road) in Mandurriao district this year.
Engineer Salvador Pedregosa, officer-in-charge of the City Engineer’s Office (CEO), said the proposed project is in the priority list of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.
The CEO is now in the process of determining how much the proposed waiting sheds will cost.
Pedregosa said Treñas had aleady ordered the the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) to identify the areas where the waiting sheds will be put up.
These areas will be designated as loading and unloading zones.
Treñas said he wanted a nature-inspired design for the waiting sheds to complement with the district’s verdant urban environment.IMT
