A total of 317 Filipinos safely returned to the country on Thursday aboard the third government-chartered flight, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.

The plane landed at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, carrying 153 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), 114 dependents, and 50 stranded Filipinos who chose to go home amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The DMW said the repatriation follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipinos in the region.

As of March 5, over 1,700 OFWs and their dependents have been repatriated under the government’s whole-of-government effort.IMT
