Senator Bam Aquino thanked the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for delaying the implementation of the mandatory Trustmark requirement for online businesses.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa DTI sa kanilang pasya na pansamantalang ipagpaliban muna ang pagpapatupad ng mandatory Trustmark requirement para sa ating online micro, small, and medium enterprises,” said Aquino.
The DTI recently announced that the Trustmark will remain voluntary until the end of the year, while it continues to review the policy.
The senator had earlier urged the agency to reconsider the mandatory rule, saying it would create unnecessary pressure on micro, small, and medium enterprises.
The Trustmark is a digital seal recognizing online sellers and platforms that follow safe, fair, and trustworthy e-commerce practices.
“Nananawagan tayo sa DTI na paigtingin pa ang kampanya laban sa mga scam sa online selling platforms, na inaasahan nating tataas ngayong panahon ng kapaskuhan,” said Aquino.IMT
