Families and young people in Badiangan are set to gain a new hub for growth and development as Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. led the groundbreaking of a P5-million Family and Youth Development Center (FYDC) on December 8, 2025.

The two-storey facility will serve as a home for the province’s population and youth programs, providing spaces for Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) sessions, youth training activities, and programs for local stakeholders.

It will also house the office of the Population Program Officer assigned to Badiangan, the Barangay Service Point Officers, the Local Youth Development Office, the Sangguniang Kabataan session hall, and the Local Youth Development Council office.

Joining the governor at the groundbreaking were Third District Representative Lorenz Defensor, Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque, Third District Board Member Mark Palabrica, Mayor Suzette Mamon, Vice Mayor Cylas Jun Nobleza, and the Sangguniang Bayan members.

Also in attendance were Mayor Rey Grabato of Mina, Mayor Adi Lazaro of Pototan, and Vice Mayor Arvin Losaria of Lambunao.

Governor Defensor said the center will become a cornerstone for building resilient families and equipping youth with the skills and support they need to thrive.
