Senator Bam Aquino urged the government to protect public markets, hospitals, and schools as rising fuel prices and basic goods continue to hit Filipino families.

“Halos isang buwan na po na nasa krisis ang ating bansa… ramdam na ramdam na po ng pamilyang Pilipino ang mabigat na epekto ng pagtaas ng presyo,” said Aquino.

He called for close monitoring of prices in public markets and the immediate release of aid to farmers, fisherfolk, vendors, and consumers to stabilize costs.

The senator pushed for subsidies for healthcare workers to ensure hospital services continue, and stressed the need to keep schools open.

Aquino lamented delays in the rollout of the P220-billion assistance fund and said local governments should lead faster distribution of aid.

He also urged support for OFWs beyond repatriation and called for regional cooperation on oil supply to prevent future crises.IMT
