President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered all government agencies to sustain assistance to residents affected by Super Typhoon Uwan and Typhoon Tino.

During a situation briefing at Malacañang, Marcos Jr.  directed the DSWD and DOH to continue providing relief and medical aid to evacuees, while the DPWH was tasked to begin road repairs immediately for faster relief operations.

The President lauded preemptive evacuations that helped minimize casualties, with the Office of Civil Defense reporting 426,000 families evacuated before the storm.

Two deaths have been confirmed while rescue efforts continue.

Pangasinan suffered the worst flooding, with 71 roads still impassable across Central Luzon, Aurora, and the Cordillera Region. Around 155 power outages were recorded, mostly in the Ilocos region.

The DSWD reported that over 100,000 families in Bicol and 20,000 in Quezon were displaced but are expected to return home once floodwaters subside.

Marcos Jr. earlier placed all agencies on full alert and ordered the prepositioning of rescue vehicles and relief goods in high-risk areas.IMT
