President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to remove abusive and corrupt personnel, warning that such officers undermine the institution’s progress.
Speaking at the PNP’s 124th Police Service Anniversary in Camp Crame, Marcos Jr. lauded improvements such as faster response times and modern equipment but stressed that technology cannot replace active police presence on the ground.
He urged the PNP to investigate and hold accountable those who misuse authority, reiterating that there is no place for corruption in the police force.
The President also warned that criminals are using advanced technology to commit fraud and other crimes, which the police must actively combat.
Marcos Jr. assured continued government support for officers who faithfully fulfill their duties and risk their lives in service to the public.IMT
