President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing globally competitive Filipino workers as he recently inspected TESDA training centers in Taguig City.
Accompanied by Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma and TESDA Director General Jose Francisco Benitez, the President toured various facilities, including welding, mechatronics, automotive servicing, HVAC, barista, and plumbing workshops.
Marcos Jr. personally checked the centers’ training infrastructure and programs to ensure they meet industry standards and global benchmarks.
Benitez thanked the President for his strong support of technical-vocational education and training, noting that TESDA now uses modern tools such as welding simulators to improve training quality.
Under his leadership, TESDA’s major scholarship programs, such as TWSP, STEP, UAQTEA, and Tulong Trabaho, received higher funding, allowing more Filipinos to enroll.
Since 2022, TESDA has recorded 5 million enrollees, with 4.5 million graduates.
Benitez also highlighted the international success of TESDA trainees, including Hannah Krystelle Caintic, who won a gold medal in Graphic Design Technology at the WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025 competition.IMT
