President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. arrived in the Philippines on Sunday, June 22, after a four-day working visit to Osaka, Japan, calling the trip “productive” as it brought in new investments, job opportunities, and stronger bilateral ties.
“I have just returned from a productive working visit to Osaka, Japan, where we secured new opportunities that will create jobs, bring in investments, and help improve the lives of Filipinos,” Marcos Jr. said in a statement upon his return.
“We return inspired to continue building a Bagong Pilipinas that delivers more jobs, more investments, and more opportunities for every Filipino,” he added.
During the trip, the President secured several key business deals aimed at promoting sustainability and generating employment. Among these is a waste-to-energy partnership between Kanadevia Corporation and Philippine Ecology Systems Corp., which will help manage waste while producing clean energy.
Another major agreement involves Tsuneishi Group’s plan to build the world’s first methanol dual-fueled bulk carrier in Cebu, positioning the Philippines as a leader in green shipping and creating local jobs.
Marcos Jr. also reported progress in tourism and technology cooperation. He strengthened partnerships with Japanese tourism leaders to attract more visitors and open opportunities for Filipino workers. His meeting with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency opened new paths for collaboration in space technology to support disaster monitoring, farming, and community safety.
At the World Expo 2025 site, the Chief Executive visited the Philippine Pavilion, which he said proudly showcases the country’s culture, innovation, and commitment to sustainability—boosting its global image as a hub for tourism, trade, and investment.
He also met with the Filipino community in Osaka, expressing gratitude for their dignity, professionalism, and continued contributions that bring pride to the nation.IMT
