President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. thanked Filipinos who endured long lines and extreme heat to vote in the May 12 midterm elections, calling it a “renewal of democracy.”
He praised voters for their dedication, saying it reflected the nation’s strong democratic spirit and commitment to nation-building.
“Maraming salamat sa bawat Pilipinong bumoto. Once again, our democracy has renewed itself—peacefully, orderly and with dignity,” the President said.
He described the elections as both “a celebration of continuity and a call to face the real challenges our people face.”
Marcos also expressed gratitude to those who supported the administration’s “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” candidates.
“We may not have won every seat, but our work and mission continue,” he said. “The work of nation-building needs all who are ready to serve.”
Before the polls, the Chief Executive had urged Filipinos to vote responsibly and help protect the integrity of the country’s democratic process.IMT
