President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has reminded all government agencies to keep their Christmas and year-end celebrations simple and meaningful, especially as many Filipinos are still recovering from recent calamities.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the reminder, echoed by Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, reflects the administration’s call for solidarity with disaster-hit communities in the Visayas and Mindanao.
She added that the directive aligns with the “Bagong Pilipinas” vision of an inclusive and compassionate government.
Last year, Marcos Jr. also urged officials to avoid lavish celebrations in support of Filipinos affected by typhoons.IMT
