President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s attendance at the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting in South Korea could pave the way for more South Korean investments in the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday, Oct. 28.
DFA Spokesperson Angelica Escalona said the President’s visit from October 30 to November 2 in Busan and Gyeongju, upon the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung, will give him the chance to promote the country to Korean investors.
Marcos Jr. will join the APEC Leaders’ Dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council and speak at the APEC CEO Summit, where he is expected to highlight the Philippines’ economic potential, new technologies, and regional integration efforts before top business leaders from APEC member economies.
“These are opportunities for us to get more investments from the Republic of Korea,” Escalona said during a pre-departure briefing in Malacañang.IMT
