The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has placed all airport and seaport officers on heightened alert after the Sandiganbayan issued arrest warrants against former Rep. Elizaldy Co and 15 others.

Commissioner Joel Viado said their names have been entered into the agency’s derogatory database so officers can immediately flag and verify them upon arrival or departure.

Once intercepted, BI personnel will coordinate with the PNP for the proper execution of the warrants.

Travel records show four of the 16 are currently abroad: Co in Singapore; DPWH official Montrexis Tamayo in Qatar; Sunwest president Aderma Angelie Alcazar in Australia; and Sunwest treasurer Cesar Buenaventura in the UAE.

Viado said the BI is closely coordinating with law-enforcement agencies to ensure the warrants are enforced once the individuals appear at Philippine ports.IMT
