Passengers traveling from Caticlan to Boracay Island and vice versa will pay higher boat fares starting April 16 amid rising fuel prices.

The Caticlan-Boracay Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CBTMPC) announced the implementation of a provisional fare hike for boats.

Under the approved fare structure, regular passengers will pay P60 per trip, higher by P10 from the current rate of P50.

Discount card holders will pay P50, while senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be charged P45.

“Once the price of fuel stabilizes at its original amount prior to the existing Middle East conflict, boat fares shall be reverted back to [their] original rates,” CBTMPC said in a public notice.IMT
