Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, drew the highest number of visitors among the country’s tourist destinations during the Christmas season.
The resort island accommodated 118,745 local and foreign tourists from December 15 to 28, 2025, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Boracay — known for its crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, and vibrant island life — is part of Western Visayas (Region VI).
“The region also welcomed cruise passengers during the holidays, with Star Navigator and Norwegian Sun making multiple port calls,” the DOT said.
Baguio City, dubbed as the “Summer Capital of the Philippines,” logged the second-highest number of arrivals at 117,137.
Cebu City came in third with 102,124 visitors, followed by Camarines Sur (92,000), Panglao Island in Bohol (62,240), Malajog Beach in Calbayog City, Samar (56,543), and La Union (47,338).
“The strength of domestic tourism in the Philippines remains a driving force of our travel industry. The Christmas holidays once again showed how Filipinos continue to explore and support our own destinations,” said DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.IMT
