What started as a case of teenage “boredom” set off alarm bells at Fort San Pedro National High School in Iloilo City.

A 15-year-old student confessed to sending a bomb threat to his own school, leaving classmates, teachers, and authorities scrambling in panic.

Police Captain Melchor Tolentino of Police Station 1 said officers launched an immediate investigation after the threat was reported on Thursday morning, Nov. 20.

The trail led straight to one of the school’s students, though he wasn’t home when authorities first arrived.

By afternoon, the teen walked into the police station with his grandmother and owned up to the stunt.

“He admitted he copied a bomb threat from social media, edited it, and sent it to his school out of boredom,” Tolentino said.

But the student denied sending threats to any other schools.

The minor has been turned over to his guardian as police continue their probe.

The incident is a stark reminder of how a moment of curiosity—or sheer boredom—can spiral into real-world chaos, disrupting learning and sending ripples of fear across the community.IMT
