Iloilo Third District Representative Lorenz “Nonoy” Defensor is unhappy with the move of the Senate to remand to the House of Representatives the articles of impeachment.
The Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, voted 18-5 to return the articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday, June 11.
In a photo shared by Board Member Jason Gonzales on Facebook, Defensor gave the 18 senator-judges a thumbs down.
“Bumped into our 3rd District Rep. Nonoy Lorenz Defensor (turned impeachment prosecutor) inside the bus while on the way to NAIA Terminal 2,” Gonzales wrote in the caption.
Defensor, a lawyer by profession, is part of the prosecution panel in the impeachment trial of Duterte.
The Senate impeachment court’s decision aims to ensure that the articles of impeachment submitted by House are “not constitutionally infirm.” IMT
