The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) will strictly enforce the 10-day gun ban effective Jan. 15, in line with the 2026 Dinagyang Festival.
The Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) is temporarily suspended during the period of implementation, the ICPO reminded the public.
ICPO officer-in-charge Col. Roland Bulalacao said the enforcement of the gun ban is intended to ensure that everyone can safely enjoy the festivities without fear or inconvenience.
“This gun ban is not meant to disrupt the celebration but to protect lives. We want everyone to enjoy Dinagyang without hassle, without fear, and without incident. Strict enforcement will be observed for the safety of all,” he said in the statement.
He urged the public, especially holders of licensed firearms, to comply with the policy and avoid any inconvenience or legal consequences.PNA
