The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has assured that exit points and repatriation measures are in place for Filipinos affected by the Middle East conflict.

Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said mass repatriation is not yet needed, but the agency is fully prepared if the situation worsens.

Identified exit points are ready for OFWs who have signified intent to return, in coordination with the DFA and host countries.

The DMW is also working with the Department of National Defense for possible military assets, and with the private sector for land, sea, and air transport options.

Amid airport closures in the UAE, Cacdac said augmentation teams will be deployed at the right time and in coordination with host country protocols.

Food and water assistance are being provided, while the AKSYON and OWWA funds are on standby for displaced or distressed OFWs. Transport services to safer areas and temporary shelters are available, including around 20 Filipinos currently housed in a Dubai shelter.IMT
