The Department of Justice (DOJ) has extended visa relief for stranded foreign nationals until May 1, allowing them to stay without penalties despite expired visas.
Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida said the extension came after many foreigners failed to secure flights home due to ongoing Middle East tensions.
“In light of this, the grant of visa relief is hereby extended until 01 May 2026,” Vida said in Department Order 2026-219.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) was directed to implement the order as flight cancellations continue, particularly on routes passing through Dubai, a key transit hub affected by regional conflict.IMT
