President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has encouraged Filipinos to actively use artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning and productivity tool, saying its usefulness improves with regular use.

Marcos Jr. suggested practical ways Filipinos can start using AI, such as getting directions, finding local activities, or writing speeches.

His vlog featured an AI-generated segment showing him dramatically transforming a Malacañang office into a rock concert stage, highlighting Filipino creativity with AI.

However, the President also warned against the misuse of AI, particularly for scams, fake news, and misinformation.

At marami sa atin ang nabibiktima dito,” according to him.

Promoting AI use is part of the Marcos administration’s broader digitalization agenda, which includes improving internet connectivity and delivering public services through smart apps.

Last May, the government launched “TunAI,” an AI tool embedded in a social media platform to detect fake news, verify information, and guide users to credible sources.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology is also developing a local AI engine to help Filipinos with information gathering, crime reporting, and support in regional dialects.IMT
