A food delivery rider was hurt after a portion of the ceiling at the main entrance of Zuri Hotel in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City collapsed on Tuesday night, April 29.
The victim sustained injuries from the incident and was immediately given medical attention by City Emerceny Responders together with the hotel staff.
“We are closely monitoring his condition and providing all necessary assistance,” the management of the hotel said in a statement.
The incident, caused by tornado, also resulted in damage to a motorcycle owned by the delivery rider and three cars.
Despite this, the management assured its guests and the public that the structural integrity of the hotel “remains sound.”
“The hotel’s main structure has consistently passed all necessary building inspections and adheres to the safety standards mandated by the city and relevant regulatory bodies,” it said.
“[We] are taking immediate action to assess the damage, secure the affected area and commence repairs to the lobby entrance ceiling,” the management further said.IMT
