Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Sharon Garin has been designated as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the agency.
The former Ilongga lawmaker will temporarily head the DOE following the reassignment of Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla.
Garin’s new role was announced by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin during a press briefing on May 23.
“DOE will, in the meanwhile, be in the hands of an acting secretary — One of the undersecretaries, the former Congresswoman Sharon Garin,” he said.
Lotilla was transferred by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), replacing Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga.IMT
