The government is stepping up job placement and livelihood support for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said after meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council, as efforts shift toward helping displaced workers quickly reenter the workforce.
The President emphasized that returning OFWs are being prioritized, with agencies now fast-tracking employment matching and skills training to ensure quicker reintegration into local jobs.
“Yung inuna natin dyan ay para doon sa mga nakauwi na OFW… hinahanapan namin ng mga paraan para kung ready sila, makahanap sila ng bagong trabaho,” said Marcos Jr.
Training programs have also been accelerated to shorten the transition period for workers seeking employment, while those opting to start businesses are being offered financing access and other support mechanisms under the expanded assistance program.IMT
