President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is encouraging the public to record and upload videos of road abuse to promote accountability, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Thursday, June 25.

DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon said the agency will act swiftly on validated reports.

The secretary cited a viral video showing six GV Florida Transport buses allegedly racing along a highway in Cagayan. The company threatened to sue the uploader for cyberlibel, claiming the video was manipulated.

The video showed buses occupying both lanes of the two-way road.

Dizon condemned the threat and said the DOTr will provide legal support to the uploader.

“Kaya itong harassment na ito hindi natin papayagan ito na gawin against our concerned citizens na ang gusto lang naman ay mag-report ng pang-aabuso para maging safe ang ating mga kababayan,” he said.IMT
