Workers across Western Visayas will take home higher pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB-6) approved a P37 to P45 increase in the daily minimum wage for private sector employees.

Lawyer Sixto Rodriguez Jr., RTWPB-6 chair and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-6) regional director, said the adjustment is set to take effect on November 19, 2025, following the issuance of the new wage order.

Under the updated rates, employees in non-agriculture, industrial, and commercial establishments with more than 10 workers will see their minimum wage rise from P513 to P550 per day, while those in smaller firms with 10 workers or fewer will get P530 daily, up from P485.

In the agriculture sector, the daily wage will increase by P40, from P480 to Php520.

Meanwhile, kasambahays or domestic workers will receive an additional P500 per month, bringing their pay from P6,000 to P6,500.

Rodriguez said the approved rates represent a “balanced figure” between workers’ demands and employers’ capacity to pay.

Labor groups under the United Labor Alliance–Panay had earlier sought a P200 across-the-board hike.

“This amount is fair to both employees and employers, based on the results of public hearings held across the region,” Rodriguez said in an interview.

The wage hike is part of continuing efforts to cushion workers from rising living costs while maintaining business stability in a regional economy still recovering from the pandemic and inflationary pressures.IMT
