In a bid to promote energy conservation and ensure sustainable government services, Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas announced the temporary implementation of a four-day work week for City Hall employees.
The initiative is a direct response to the recent advisory issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. regarding energy-saving measures across government agencies.
Under the new alternative working arrangement, regular on-site office operations at the city hall will be compressed for four days (Monday to Thursday).
Fridays will now be dedicated to “community days,” while all seminars, training sessions, and administrative meetings will be transitioned to online platforms.
Treñas assured that the adjusted schedule will not disrupt crucial city government operations.
Offices and personnel involved in essential, basic, and vital public services are exempted from the four-day work week arrangement and will maintain their regular operations.
“It is incredibly important to ensure that despite the adjustments in the work schedules of some city government offices, no essential services will be affected. The public will continue to receive the uninterrupted services they need,” said Treñas.IMT
