The rate of increase in the prices of goods and services in Iloilo City decelerated in October this year, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The city’s inflation clocked in at 1.9 percent last month, slower compared to 2.1 percent in September 2025 and 4.1 percent in the same month a year ago.

The PSA mainly attributed the deceleration to slower  increases in the costs of food, beverages, tobacco, restaurants and accomodation services.

“Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages’ inflation dropped further from 1.6 percent in September 2025 to 0.9 percent in October 2025, contributing the largest share (78.4 percent) to the overall downtrend in inflation,” agency said.

“Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco slowed from 4.1 percent to 3.7 percent; Health decreased from 6.1 percent to 5.5 percent; Recreation, Sport and Culture declined from 3.9 percent to 3.5 percent; and Restaurants and Accommodation Services went down significantly from 0.9 percent to 0.4 percent,” it further said.
