The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is on heightened alert for the fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos on Monday, July 28.
ICPO spokesperson Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines said more than 200 personnel will be mobilized as part of their peacekeeping efforts.
They will be deployed across the city, especially in areas where rallies are scheduled to take place, to ensure public safety and prevent disruptions.
According to Sangrines, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan Panay, Alliance for Peace, Environment, and Sustainability (APES) and Sentrong Alyanssa ng Mamamayan para sa Bayan (SAMBAYANAN) have coordinated with them.
The groups are expected to stage rallies at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Plazoleta Gay, UP Infante Flyover, West Visayas State University (WVSU), and Casa Plaza sidewalk.
“We will strictly implement no permit no rally policy [on July 28] but we will exercise maximum tolerance to those nga wala ka secure appropriate permits lag wala coordination sa aton sa ICPO,” Sangrines told IMT NEWS.
“Our appeal to everyone is ‘Let’s make SONA 2025 safe and secure.’ Ululupod kita nga bantayan ang kalinong kag katawhayan sang aton syudad,” she added.IMT
