The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) reported a “successful” anti-drug drive in the first three months of 2026, seizing more than P42.2 million worth of illegal substances.
From January 1 to March 31, the ICPO conducted 170 operations that resulted in the arrest of 211 drug personalities, 63 of them were classified as high-value targets (HVTs) and 146 were street-level individuals (SLIs)
The intensified operations also yielded approximately 6,207 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P42,208,254.84, along with minor quantities of marijuana.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) had the largest drug seizure in the first quarter, securing over 3.5 kilograms of shabu worth nearly P24 million and arresting 43 suspects, followed by Iloilo City Police Station 2 (P8.89 million worth of shabu).
In a parallel effort, the ICPO’s campaign against wanted persons yielded 97 arrests out of 104 targeted operations, according to the City Investigation and Detection Management Unit (CIDMU).
Of the fugitives captured, 15 were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs), which included one regional-level and three provincial-level targets. The rest were categorized as other wanted persons (OWPs).
The Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC) recorded the highest number of apprehensions with 16 arrests, followed by ICPS2 with 13, and ICPS5 with 10 arrests.
ICPO officer-in-charge Police Colonel Wilbert B. Parilla commended the dedication of the police operatives and emphasized that these milestones heavily rely on the cooperation of city residents.
“Good job. Keep it up. Through these accomplishments, we are able to deliver justice to the victims and their families,” he stated.
“This serves as a reminder to those who refuse to answer for their actions that they cannot hide forever from the long arm of the law,” he continued.
Parilla also issued a stern warning to drug syndicates, noting that the police force will not rest on its laurels.
“Our fight will continue until we cleanse our streets of the evil of illegal drugs,” he said.IMT
