President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the rehabilitated Philippine Fisheries Development Authority–Iloilo Fish Port Complex (PFDA–IFPC) will not only serve around 1,500 fisherfolk but also become a tourist and culinary attraction in Iloilo.

Speaking at the inauguration in Barangay Baybay Tanza on Wednesday, Aug. 13, Marcos Jr. said the facility’s development plan includes restaurants and cooking areas.

The upgraded port now has modern cold storage powered by solar energy to keep catches fresh, reduce costs, and maintain market value during transport.

The President stressed that the project supports his goal of connecting farmers and fisherfolk directly to markets.

He said the PFDA–IFPC is expected to boost local economic activity, create jobs, and draw visitors seeking fresh seafood and Iloilo’s fishing culture.

Top officials from the agriculture, public works, and local government joined the inauguration.IMT
