The rate of increase in the prices of goods and services in the province and city of Iloilo slowed down in June this year.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), inflation in the province eased to 1.7 percent last month from 2.8 percent in May.

The decline was mainly driven by the slower increase in the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels index, which saw an inflation rate of 3 percent.

The slowdown of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages’ inflation (0.6 percent) also contributed to the overall downtrend in June.

In Iloilo City, inflation settled at 2.7 percent in June, lower compared the 3.3 percent in the preceding month.IMT
