Graduates of various scholarship programs of the Iloilo provincial government, who will take professional board examinations for the first time, can avail of up to P10,000 in financial aid.
This came after Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. signed Executive Order No. 044 promulgating the implementing rules and regulations of Provincial Ordinance No. 2024-321, also known as “An Ordinance Granting Financial Assistance to the Graduate Scholars of the Province of Iloilo for their Review in the Board Examination on Respective Fields of Endeavor.”
According to the provincial government, “this initiative aims to reduce the financial stress of scholars while reviewing, hence, enabling them to succeed in their professional journey.”
The ordinance was authored and sponsored by Vice Gov. Christine Garin.
Those who are eligible for the financial grant are beneficiaries of the Iskolar sang Iloilo Program (ISIP), educational assistance for Indigenous People (IP), scholarship for persons with disability (PWDs), scholarship program for the children of OFWs in crisis, and other provincial scholarship programs.
“Under the program, each scholar will receive a P10,000 aid to subsidize their fee in review centers. Those who would prefer self-review are also entitled to the aid, subject to documentary requirements,” the provincial government said in a media release.
The beneficiary must be a resident of the province of Iloilo for at least six months upon application.
The provincial government further advised that documentary requirements should be submitted to the respective office handling the specific scholarship program such as the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) – Province of Iloilo for ISIP scholars; Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) for IPs and PWD scholars; and Public Employment Services Office (PESO) – Province of Iloilo for children of Overseas Filipino Workers in crisis.AAL/LMLE/PIA Iloilo/Capitol News
