Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has urged Filipinos to stay vigilant as more evidence surfaces in the massive flood control corruption scandal involving DPWH officials and high-ranking politicians.

Speaking a day after the “Trillion Peso March” protest, Pangilinan said, “Now is the time to make a stand. Now is the time to speak up. Now is the time to fight for a better future for all of us.”

He described the nationwide rally, joined by students, clergy, celebrities, influencers, and ordinary citizens, as “democracy in action” and proof of people power.

The senator, who attended the protest with fellow lawmakers, stressed that peaceful assembly is a constitutional right and the best safeguard against government abuse. He called the demonstrations a strong signal that Filipinos will not be silenced.

To keep the issue alive, Pangilinan urged the public to continue organizing, speaking out, and sharing legitimate grievances on officials’ social media accounts.

“Para maiwasan at hindi mabaon sa limot itong isyu na ito ay dapat tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang vigilance ng ating mga kababayan. Continue to organize. Continue to make our sentiments known,” he said.IMT
