Former Iloilo City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said he still has no decision yet on whether he will run for a post next year.
Mabilog made the clarification on Tuesday, Oct. 1, amid reports that he will seek the city’s mayoral seat in the 2025 midterm elections.
The former mayor will reportedly run together with Iloilo City Representative Julienne “Jamjam” Baronda against incumbent Mayor Jerry Treñas and Raisa Treñas-Chu, respectively.
The filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the 2025 midterm elections started on Tuesday and will run until Oct. 8, this year.
Mabilog returned to the Philippines earlier last month after seven years of self-imposed exile in the United States.
He left the country in 2017 after he was baselessly accused by then-president Rodrigo Duterte of being a drug protector.IMT
