Malacañang said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains firm on holding those involved in irregular flood control projects accountable and has left the investigation to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and other concerned agencies.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President respects the ICI’s independent mandate and will support its work if needed, adding that cases will be filed once evidence warrants.

“Lahat ng sangkot ay dapat mapanagot. Ang pag-iimbestiga ay iniwan niya sa kamay ng ICI,” she also said.

Castro added the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Ombudsman, and the Department of Justice are continuing their probes, with any ICI recommendations to be submitted to the President.

She said Marcos Jr. will not interfere in the process and is focusing on economic priorities, leaving the flood control cases to investigators and the courts.IMT
