President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has praised the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for keeping the nation safe, saying Filipinos enjoy peaceful lives because of their service.
Speaking at the AFP’s 90th anniversary at Camp Aguinaldo, Marcos Jr. recognized the more than 160,000 AFP personnel for strengthening the country’s defense posture through preparedness and professionalism amid internal and external threats.
He cited the AFP’s expanded cybersecurity efforts, humanitarian and disaster response operations, and continued maritime cooperation that shows the Philippines’ commitment to international law.
The President stressed the country’s firm stance on sovereignty, saying, “What is ours is ours.”
He added that the AFP’s service gives meaning to the peace Filipinos celebrate, especially during the Christmas season.
“Nagdiriwang ang sambayanang Pilipino nang may panatag na loob dahil alam naming nariyan kayo—nagbabantay at handang tumugon para sa bayan.”IMT
