President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the country in honoring former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, who died at 101.

Enrile, Marcos Jr’s Chief Presidential Legal Counsel since 2022, was praised by the President as one of the nation’s “most enduring” public servants.

He highlighted Enrile’s five decades in government, his sharp mind even in his final years, and his major role in guiding the country through historic challenges.

Enrile previously served as justice and defense minister under the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and later became a four-term senator and Senate President from 2008 to 2013.

Marcos Jr. said Enrile leaves an indelible legacy in law and governance, thanking him for a life “na buong puso mong inalay para sa bayan.”IMT
