Resigning is not enough for officials responsible for anomalous infrastructure projects, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said, stressing they must face full accountability, including for any loss of life.

In the latest BBM Podcast, Marcos Jr. clarified that stepping down does not absolve wrongdoers.

“That’s not sufficient. That’s not enough,” he said, emphasizing that negligence or corruption causing real harm must be addressed.

The President cited a defective flood control project that collapsed during a flood, killing a family. “How can you live with that? I can’t live with it. So, I won’t live with it. So, I – we’ll keep pushing,” he said.

Marcos Jr. has repeatedly called for transparency and accountability in government projects, particularly in infrastructure spending, as public scrutiny heightens over alleged ghost and anomalous flood control projects.
