Malacañang said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains focused on governance despite political noise, Cabinet changes, and public allegations from his sister Senator, Imee Marcos.

Presidential Communications Secretary Dave Gomez said the President continues to work, noting that he was in Bicol overseeing relief operations.

He stressed that Marcos Jr. will not dignify “wild” and “laughable” allegations, calling them part of a “pandemic of lies.”

Gomez urged the public to be discerning, noting how falsehoods spread easily. He also reminded that similar accusations surfaced during the 2022 campaign and were disproven after Marcos Jr. tested negative for cocaine at St. Luke’s.

“Ang resulta ng drug test na ‘yun ay mahigit 30 million Filipinos voted for Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to be the next president. So lumang tugtugin na. And if I may quote a cliche, this has seemed to be a tale as old as time,” he noted.

He called it “unfortunate” that the claim came from the President’s own sister but insisted the baseless allegations will have no impact on the Chief Executive.IMT
