President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has pledged to complete most major infrastructure projects under his administration before his term ends in 2028.
In his fourth State of the Nation Address, Marcos Jr. said the government’s infrastructure push will continue across the country.
“Ilan dito, matatapos ngayong administrasyon. Ang iba naman, makukumpleto at mararamdaman ang dalang ginhawa pagkatapos na ng aking termino,” according to him.
The President highlighted ongoing developments in roads, bridges, railways, airports, seaports, irrigation, and affordable housing. These big-ticket projects aim to improve connectivity, accessibility, and quality of life nationwide.
“We are not building only for today, but we are building also for tomorrow,” he stressed.
Marcos Jr. also cited improvements in public transport, including continued work on the North-South Commuter Railway and service upgrades for LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3. Commuters now benefit from fare discounts, including 50% off for students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities, plus the “1+3 Pamilya Pass” on Sundays.
He also noted the refurbishment and active use of Dalian trains on the MRT-3 line.IMT
