MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) has deployed a total of seven teams, composed of 37 personnel, to assist its sister company, Negros Power, in fast-tracking power restoration efforts following the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino.
The first batch—three teams with 13 personnel—was dispatched on November 7. Each team was equipped with essential service vehicles, including a boom truck, a pick-up, and an L300 van, and assigned to the areas of Bago City and Bacolod City for repair and restoration work.
To strengthen the response, MORE Power sent an additional five teams on November 12, bringing 24 more personnel, two lift trucks, and another L300 vehicle to support ongoing operations in Central Negros.
MORE Power Chief Operating Officer Engr. JM Zaporteza underscored the company’s commitment to solidarity and service during times of crisis.
“We sent our line crews and engineers to Negros Power not only because it is our sister company, but because it is part of our culture as a distribution utility to bring light to communities in need,” said Engr. Zaporteza. “This is not the first time we’ve extended help—back in 2021, during Typhoon Odette, we also deployed teams to CENECO to assist in restoring power as quickly as possible.”
In addition to manpower and vehicles, MORE Power also deployed its oil purification and regeneration machine to Negros Power. The specialized equipment will be used at the Gonzaga Substation and other key sites to test power transformers while they remain online, ensuring continuous operations during the recovery phase.
MORE Power’s efforts are further complemented by its sister company, Bohol Light, which has likewise mobilized teams to aid in the power restoration efforts across Central Negros.
