Fare rates for Ceres buses operating in Iloilo and other parts of Panay will remain unchanged, Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), announced on Thursday, March 20.
“We are pleased to inform our valued passengers that our fares remain at previous rates, with no increases implemented,” VTI, the country’s biggest bus firm, said in an advisory.
“Our commitment is to provide safe, reliable, and comfortable journeys every time you ride, ensuring you reach your destination with ease and peace of mind,” it added.
VTI issued the advisory after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to suspend the scheduled implementation of the approved fare adjustments for public utility vehicles (PUVs).
The bus company earlier said that it will implement an additional fare increase for passengers per kilometer in every route amid rising fuel prices caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The “no fare increase” advisory also covers buses operating in Cebu and Negros, as well as units under the Batangas City-based Ceres Transport Inc., which operates routes connecting Metro Manila to major hubs in the Visayas and Mindanao.IMT
