More than 1 million Filipinos have benefitted from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s zero balance billing policy in just four months, Malacañang announced.

On Wednesday, PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro said more than 1,078,000 patients in DOH-listed hospitals received full coverage of their medical expenses under the program, which the President highlighted in his SONA as part of efforts to ease the financial burden on patients.

The DOH, led by Secretary Ted Herbosa, is sustaining full implementation of the policy in public hospitals to ensure accessible, no-cost treatment for those who need it most.

Castro said the government remains committed to keeping hospital services within reach and maintaining free medical care for the most vulnerable.

“Makakaasa ang mga kababayan natin na mananatiling abot-kamay ang maayos na kalidad ng serbisyo ng mga pampublikong ospital at libre ang pagpapagamot para sa mga lubos na nangangailangan,” she said.IMT
