More than 400 young agricultural advocates from all over Iloilo province came together to celebrate the 72nd 4-H Farm Youth Provincial Achievement Day, an event fully supported by the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgrO).
The event highlighted the crucial role of the youth in driving sustainable agricultural development and boosting rural prosperity in the province.
Key activities included a vibrant parade, the ceremonial turnover of the 4-H emblem, a citizenship ceremony, candle-lighting rites, and various skill competitions such as Debate, Quiz Bee, and Agri-Innovation Pitching.
Organized in partnership with the Pototan Municipal Agriculture Office and the 4-H Provincial Federation, the gathering featured motivational speeches from Vice Governor Nathalie Ann F. Debuque, Board Member Jason Gonzales, and guest speakers Mauro S. Somodio and Ed.D. Aldren B. Fuentes.
PAgrO staff members—Roney Guanco, Alme Villamera, and Lourdes Defensor—also provided mentorship and support throughout the event.
For the young participants, the celebration was more than just a competition; it was a valuable opportunity to demonstrate their skills, exchange innovative ideas, and strengthen their commitment as the next generation of Iloilo’s agricultural leaders.IMT
