Malacañang assured the public that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) remain loyal to the Constitution amid reports of efforts to sway them from supporting the government.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has long been aware of such attempts by small groups, even before the September 21 rallies over alleged corruption in flood control projects.

Castro said AFP Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. and PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Nartatez Jr. both reaffirmed their loyalty to the Constitution and the chain of command.

The public has nothing to worry about, she added, stressing that the AFP and PNP remain committed to their duty.

Marcos Jr., according to her, recognizes the excellence and professionalism of the AFP and the PNP.IMT
