Malacañang has assured the business community that the Marcos administration is intensifying efforts to fight corruption and promote transparency in government.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the government has launched the Sumbong sa Pangulo website and created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) through Executive Order No. 94 to probe irregular flood control and infrastructure projects.

She added that the government has frozen the assets of those implicated in corruption cases, issued Immigration Lookout Bulletin Orders, and recommended charges against former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co.

Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. understands the concerns of the business sector, stressing that investigations and accountability measures are ongoing. She also urged critics to stop discrediting the ICI, saying it only hurts the economy.

On calls to strengthen the ICI’s powers, the Palace official said Marcos Jr. supports moves to give the commission more authority if it benefits the public.IMT
