Malacañang has expressed full support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to root out corruption in government projects by imposing a lifetime blacklist on erring contractors, suppliers, and consultants.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the move follows the New Government Procurement Act of 2024 (Republic Act No. 12009), which permanently disqualifies those who repeatedly violate procurement rules.

Under the law, contractors, suppliers, or consultants with at least three violations will face lifetime disqualification from bidding or transacting with any government agency.

Castro said the Department of Budget and Management is pushing for the strict implementation of the provision to ensure transparency and accountability in public spending.

“Inaasahang mabisang deterrent ang bagong probisyon ng batas upang wakasan ang paglustay sa kaban ng bayan at proteksyunan ang kapakanan ng mamamayan,” she added.IMT
