Malacañang has defended Energy Secretary Sharon Garin amid criticism over the government’s response to rising oil prices and the Middle East crisis.

“Hindi natin puwedeng i-judge ang DOE dahil sila po mismo ang sobra po ang pagtatrabaho,” said Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, stressing Garin is working tirelessly.

Garin earlier assured the country has up to 50 days of fuel reserves, but warned a worst-case scenario could mean shortages in the coming months if the conflict escalates.

She recently drew flak from Senator Loren Legarda for missing part of a Senate hearing, though she later appeared before the panel.IMT
